The Metro Board authorized a one-year pilot of the “Pay-as-You-Use” model. The “Pay-as You-Use” model will enable drivers to drive in the Metro ExpressLanes without a transponder or registered account. Drivers without an account or transponder will be charged the toll and a $4.00 processing fee per transaction/one-way trip with an invoice sent to the registered owner of the vehicle. Metro is developing an action plan and will inform the public before this pilot is implemented.
